Scientia International Journal for Earth Sciences | Scientia International
Dear researchers, academics, and readers,
It is with great enthusiasm and honor that we welcome you
to the inaugural edition of the Scientia International Journal for
Earth Sciences (SIJEarth). This is a landmark moment for
Scientia International and a crucial step in our mission to
transform the dissemination of scientific knowledge on a global
scale. SIJEarth is not just a scientific journal; it is a testament
to our commitment to excellence, innovation, and accessibility
in the field of Earth sciences.
1. The Mission of Scientia International
Scientia International was founded with a clear purpose: to
democratize access to scientific knowledge, overcoming
linguistic and financial barriers that often limit the
dissemination of critical research. Our vision is of a world
where high-quality scientific information is free and accessible
to all, promoting collaboration and the advancement of
knowledge on a truly global scale.
To realize this vision, we launched Scientia International
Press, our open-access publishing division dedicated to
providing high-quality editorial services for the academic and
scientific community. Through Scientia International Press, we
offer a range of specialized services, including personalized
editorial support, rigorous peer review, advanced plagiarism
detection, open access publication, indexing and global
visibility efforts, digital preservation, flexible licensing, and
multilingual publishing.
2. SIJEarth’s Purpose
The Scientia International Journal for Earth Sciences
(SIJEarth) is dedicated to publishing cutting-edge, high-quality
research in Earth sciences. Our journal covers a wide range of
topics, including geology, geophysics, geography,
oceanography, and meteorology. We seek works that not only
advance knowledge in their respective fields but also address
emerging and pressing issues such as climate change, natural
resources, and geological hazards.
SIJEarth stands out for its open-access policy, ensuring that
all publications are freely available to readers worldwide. This
publishing model is essential for promoting barrier-free
knowledge dissemination, allowing researchers from all over
the globe to access and contribute their findings.
2.1. SIJEarth’s Focus and Scope
Our main focus is on disseminating innovative and
practically relevant research with a significant impact in Earth
sciences. The journal welcomes manuscripts that explore topics
ranging from the Earth's internal dynamics to climatic
phenomena affecting our planet.
Geology: We encourage the submission of studies on the
Earth's structure and composition, tectonic processes,
mineralogy, and geological resources.
Geophysics: We seek research that advances our
understanding of the physical processes shaping the Earth,
including seismology, magnetism, and gravity.
Geography: We welcome manuscripts exploring the
interactions between the natural environment and human
activities, mapping, and spatial studies.
Oceanography: We seek works covering topics from ocean
dynamics to marine ecology and ocean-atmosphere
interactions.
Meteorology: We encourage studies on atmospheric
phenomena, weather forecasting, and climate change.
3. Linguistic Inclusivity and Open Review
One of Scientia International’s most innovative initiatives is
our linguistic inclusivity policy. At SIJEarth, we accept articles
in any language, which are subsequently translated and
published in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Metadata, such
as titles, abstracts, and keywords, are available in German,
Spanish, French, English, Mandarin, and Portuguese. This
approach not only facilitates access to information for a wider
audience but also promotes diversity and inclusion in the
academic world.
Furthermore, we adopt a progressive and transparent open
review model, where reviewers and authors are identified, and
their review reports are published alongside the articles. This
practice promotes a culture of openness and responsibility,
encouraging constructive dialogue between authors and
reviewers, facilitating collaboration, and enhancing scientific
knowledge.
4. Commitment to Quality and Excellence
At SIJEarth, the quality and relevance of publications are
our top priorities. Our editorial team, composed of renowned
scientists and academics in their fields, works closely with
authors and reviewers to ensure a rigorous evaluation of
manuscripts. This meticulous process ensures that only high-
quality research with significant implications is published.
We are committed to supporting the scientific community
by providing a reliable, high-quality platform for publishing
research. Through our ongoing efforts for indexing and global
visibility, we ensure that publications in SIJEarth have a
significant impact and reach a vast, diverse audience.
5. Acknowledgments and Recognitions
Scientia International is privileged to count on the support
of the governments of Spain, Portugal, and Brazil. In Spain, we
are part of the incubator at CEEIM - Centro Europeo de
Empresas e Innovación de Murcia, where we receive support
for the implementation and management of the startup.
In Portugal, we were incubated at Regia-Douro Park, thanks
to a strategic collaboration with the Municipality of Vila Real,
the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD), and
Portuspark. Our project was selected for the StartUP Visa
Portugal program, promoted by IAPMEI - Agency for
