Focus: The Scientia International Journal for Linguistics, Letters and Arts aims to disseminate research of excellence in the fields of linguistics, literature, and arts, encouraging knowledge exchange and collaboration among scholars and professionals worldwide.

Scope: The journal covers a wide variety of topics related to linguistics, literature, and arts, including theoretical and applied linguistic studies, literary analysis, art history, and cultural criticism. We seek works that explore current and globally relevant issues such as cultural identity, intercultural communication, and new forms of artistic expression. Publishing in our journal provides open access and international visibility, ensuring research reaches a broad and diverse audience.

Scientia International is a scientific publishing and technology initiative dedicated to the democratisation, internationalisation, and dissemination of scientific knowledge.

Through Scientia International Press, it provides an open access and multilingual publishing environment designed to reduce linguistic, geographical, and economic barriers to scientific communication.

Its mission is to support the global circulation of rigorous scientific knowledge, promote collaboration among researchers from different countries and academic traditions, and increase the visibility of research produced in diverse linguistic and regional contexts.

Open Access and Licensing

All articles are published in immediate open access and may be read and downloaded free of charge.

Authors retain copyright over their published work.

Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International — CC BY 4.0 licence. This licence permits sharing, reproduction, distribution, and adaptation, provided that appropriate credit is given to the authors and the original publication.

Editorial Governance

The journal is managed by a Scientific Editorial Team and supported by an International Editorial Board composed of invited scholars and researchers affiliated with academic and research institutions in different countries.

The Scientific Editorial Team and the Editorial Board are responsible for:

  • maintaining the journal’s scientific quality and editorial coherence;

  • safeguarding editorial independence and research integrity;

  • ensuring that manuscripts are evaluated fairly and consistently;

  • promoting disciplinary, institutional, geographical, and cultural diversity;

  • supporting the principles of open science adopted by Scientia International;

  • contributing to the journal’s international development.

Editorial decisions are based exclusively on the scientific quality, relevance, originality, ethical compliance, and suitability of manuscripts for the journal’s focus and scope.

Commercial considerations, publication fees, discounts, institutional relationships, sponsorships, or waivers do not influence manuscript evaluation or editorial decisions.

Publication Frequency

The journal adopts a continuous publication model.

Articles are published individually after successfully completing all stages of the editorial process, including peer review, editorial decision, revisions, translation, and editorial production.

The journal publishes at least one volume per year and may organise regular issues, special issues, or thematic dossiers according to its editorial planning.

Open Peer Review

The journal adopts an open peer review model founded on transparency, accountability, recognition, and constructive scientific dialogue.

Under this model:

  • the identities of authors and reviewers are mutually known;

  • manuscripts approved during editorial screening are normally evaluated by at least two independent external reviewers;

  • review reports and reviewer identities are published alongside accepted articles;

  • submission, revision, acceptance, and publication dates form part of the permanent editorial record.

The final decision to accept, request revisions, or reject a manuscript is made by the Scientific Editorial Team.

Research Ethics and Editorial Integrity

The journal follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics — COPE and internationally recognised standards of research and publication integrity.

Its ethical framework covers, among other matters:

  • originality and appropriate attribution of sources;

  • plagiarism, inappropriate text recycling, and duplicate publication;

  • responsible authorship and contributorship;

  • conflicts of interest and funding disclosure;

  • ethical approval and informed consent;

  • protection of personal, confidential, and sensitive data;

  • appropriate use and disclosure of artificial intelligence;

  • fabrication, falsification, and manipulation of data or images;

  • corrections, errata, expressions of concern, and retractions;

  • complaints, appeals, and allegations of misconduct.

Published articles may be corrected or retracted when substantial errors or confirmed misconduct affect the reliability or integrity of the scientific record.

Multilingual Scientific Communication

Scientia International Press promotes multilingual scientific communication as a means of expanding access, visibility, inclusion, and international academic collaboration.

Accepted journal articles are prepared for publication in:

  • English;

  • Spanish;

  • Portuguese.

The original-language version may also be preserved in the final publication.

Article metadata, including titles, abstracts, and keywords, may be made available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, and Mandarin.

Submission requirements, supported languages, translation procedures, and provisions for Indigenous, minority, and sign languages are described in the journal’s Guidelines for Authors.

DOI, Discoverability, and Digital Publication

Each accepted article receives an individual Digital Object Identifier — DOI.

The published record may include:

  • the original and translated versions of the article;

  • multilingual metadata;

  • submission, revision, acceptance, and publication dates;

  • open peer review reports;

  • reviewer identification;

  • supplementary files and research materials.

Scientia International Press works to improve the discoverability, accessibility, citability, and long-term availability of its scientific publications through structured metadata, persistent identifiers, academic indexing, and digital preservation practices.

Guidelines for Authors and Publication Fees

Requirements concerning manuscript preparation, authorship, research ethics, languages, references, supplementary materials, data availability, artificial intelligence, and requested revisions are presented in the journal’s Guidelines for Authors.

Information on publication fees, included services, discounts, and waiver opportunities is available on the Article Processing Charges — APCs page.

No publication fee is charged for rejected manuscripts.

Payment, discounts, or waivers do not influence peer review or editorial decisions.

Institutional Support and Innovation Ecosystem

Scientia International participates in public programmes, incubation environments, institutional cooperation networks, and entrepreneurship and technological development initiatives in Spain, Brazil, and Portugal.

These relationships contribute to the institutional, technological, and international development of the Scientia International publishing ecosystem while preserving the scientific and editorial independence of Scientia International Press and its journals.

Spain

Scientia International is based in Murcia and is incubated at CEEIM — European Business and Innovation Centre of Murcia, where it forms part of a regional ecosystem of innovation, entrepreneurship, and technological development.

In 2025, Scientia International was selected for a startup acceleration programme promoted by the EOI Foundation, funded by the European Union — Next Generation EU, in collaboration with Telefónica and Wayra.

The programme provided specialised training, mentoring, access to innovation networks, and support for business and technological development.

Scientia International also received support through the Kit Digital, a Spanish public programme for the digital transformation of startups and small and medium-sized enterprises.

This support contributed to investments in digital infrastructure, process automation, web development, and the integration of editorial and educational management systems.

Brazil

In Brazil, Scientia International operates through Scientia International Inova Simples (I.S.), registered under the Inova Simples legal framework created to facilitate the formalisation and development of innovative enterprises.

Scientia International is also incubated by InovaLatina — CLAEC’s Agency for Innovation and Technology Transfer, a unit of the Latin American Centre for Studies in Culture — CLAEC.

The project is integrated into InovaLatina under the category of Incubation and International Cooperation.

Through this relationship, Scientia International participates in an ecosystem connecting research, open science, innovation, technology transfer, education, entrepreneurship, and cooperation with institutions in Latin America and the Global South.

The incubation supports the development of:

  • multilingual scientific journals;

  • academic and scientific publishing initiatives;

  • Scientia International College;

  • partnerships with universities and research centres;

  • open science and scientific training projects;

  • initiatives designed to strengthen researchers and institutions in the Global South.

Portugal

In Portugal, Scientia International was incubated at Regia-Douro Park through cooperation with the Municipality of Vila Real, the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro — UTAD, and Portuspark.

In 2023, the project was approved under the StartUP Visa Portugal programme, promoted by IAPMEI — Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation, under application number 1089.

This initiative contributed to Scientia International’s internationalisation strategy and its development within the Portuguese innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Participation in these programmes, incubation environments, and institutional cooperation networks does not imply involvement by the participating organisations in manuscript evaluation, peer review, or editorial decisions.

The scientific and editorial independence of Scientia International Press and its journals is fully preserved.
